The standard silicon carbide ranges offer coarse, medium, fine and extra fine grades. Work progressively through the grades, starting with the surface preparation needed and moving to finer abrasives for the required finish. Colours and grades vary between abrasive families, so select by the individual product description.
Mounted abrasives fit a compatible handpiece directly. Unmounted wheels require a suitable screw-top mandrel; bullets and cylinders require a suitable threaded mandrel. Check each product’s dimensions, mounting requirements and operating speed before use.
Compared with a Cratex wheel, the standard silicone rubber polishers in this range are softer and more flexible, helping them follow contours during detailed finishing. Cratex wheels have a firmer feel. The two ranges use different colour codes, so choose by the stated grade rather than matching colours.
